About this product
It takes its name from the beard, the hook of steel below the edge. On a bearded axe that shape lets you take hold of the haft close under the head, which is what you want for finer work.
There is a calfskin lanyard at the end of the handle.
Add the canvas case to your order and the axe is sent with a white, high-cotton canvas sheath.
It is forged by hand, so the hammer marks across the head are different on every one. That is not a flaw; it is what shaping each axe on its own leaves behind.
